‘Budgie mayhem’: desert in central Australia turned green and gold by budgerigar murmuration – video

<p>After a bumper wet season, huge flocks of budgerigars are on the move in the desert.  A massive murmuration – the phenomenon of thousands of birds flocking together – has swarmed the Northern Territory. Photographer Steve Pearce has captured the natural phenomenon, saying 'The photos are always only pointing in one direction.
